Content Management System CMS

Content Management Systems

A content management system (CMS) is a computer system that allows publishing, editing, and modifying content as well as site maintenance from a central page. It provides a collection of procedures used to manage workflow in a collaborative environment. These procedures can be manual or computer-based.

One of the main goals of any CMS is that they allow regular users to add content to the company web site without having to bring web developers and other specialists into the mix. This is a noble goal but it can be extremely intimidating for such users to try and make changes. Our classes help familiarize your workers with the basics of each CMS system so that they are more comfortable editing pages and creating new pages.

Our company can also provide WordPress website design services, DNN website design services, Joomla website design services, Drupal website design services, Moodle website design services, or create websites with just about any other CMS. See our CMS Website Design page for more information!.

DotNetNuke is an open source web content management system based on Microsoft .NET. We use DNN for our own home site and are quite familiar with the ins and outs of the system. As with any CMS there are a few quirks and making your employees familiar with these features enables them to work more smoothly with the interface.

If education is your goal then you've probably heard of Moodle by now. While not technically a CMS it has the same concept and allows for you to offer classes to people through an web interface. We have several educators as clients and this tool allows them to bring their knowledge to students from around the world. This is the new face of education and we can host, setup and maintain your site.

Joomla is a free and open source content management framework (CMF) for publishing content on the World Wide Web and intranets and a model–view–controller (MVC) Web application framework that can also be used independently. It uses PHP and is highly scalable. We use Joomla for our Training Site and several of our clients. Because it is scalable for very large enterprise businesses it can be somewhat unintuitive for smaller situations. We can help you employees make the most of this system.

WordPress is a free and open source blogging tool and a dynamic content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. It has many features including a plug-in architecture and a template system. WordPress is currently the most popular CMS in use on the Internet and we love it. We've developed a number of sites using WordPress and are happy to teach your employees the best way to use the tool. Believe us, it's not just for Blogs anymore!

Others (Drupal, etc.)

The CMS world is changing every day and we can customize classes for whatever system you are using. Just call us today and we will make it happen!
