Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is an independent information security certification governed by International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium also known as (ISC)².
Over 75,000 members hold the CISSP certification world wide, in 134 countries. The CISSP was the first information security credential accredited by ANSI ISO/IEC Standard 17024:2003 accreditation, and as such has led industry acceptance of this global standard and its requirements. It is also formally approved by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) in both their Information Assurance Technical (IAT) and Managerial (IAM) categories for their DoDD 8570 certification requirement. The CISSP has been adopted as a baseline for the U.S. National Security Agency's ISSEP program.
It is made up of ten domains: Access Control, Telecommunications and Network Security, Information Security Governance and Risk Management, Software Development Security, Cryptography, Security Architecture and Design, Security Operations, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, Legal, Regulations, Invetigations and Complaiance, and Physical (Environmental) Security.
